Mr. Lawton received his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida in 1973. In 1976 he formed the firm of Dean, Ringers, Morgan & Lawton, P. A. He has been Board Certified as a civil trial lawyer since 1989, and has an AV rating in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. Mr. Lawton has tried cases throughout the State of Florida, both in the State and Federal Court systems. His Bar admissions include the State of Florida and the District of Columbia. He is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Middle and Northern Districts of Florida, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the National Board of Trial Advocacy, the American Bar Association, the Orange County Bar Association, the Florida Defense Lawyers Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the International Association of Defense Counsel.
